Techinnova signs the first collaboration agreement in Dubai

Nov 9, 2021 | News EN

Today in Dubai, Techinnova S.p.A. signed its first collaboration agreement with one of the UAE’s leading universities: the prestigious American University in Dubai (AUD). The agreement is part of a series of meetings organised to promote and favour the internationalisation of the companies – in line with the vision of the CEO of Techinnova Riccardo Roggeri. Furthermore, the agreement was signed with a perspective of expanding our network of technological and commercial partners, as well as exploring – according to the logic of Open Innovation – all the possibilities of technology transfer in an area with a tremendous degree of innovation and which is proposed as an extraordinary meeting point for all innovation players on a global scale.

For the company, this day represents a fundamental step towards the joint growth of the activities of the Incubator and the accelerated start-ups. In fact, these collaborations – which aim to be more and more frequent and ongoing – allow not only the Company, but also the teams of the accelerated start-ups, to illustrate strategies and objectives for the years to come, in a setting of comparison with their main counterparts in the United Arab Emirates.

Even for the University, the agreement also represents the very first collaboration with a private entity: the collaboration project was highly supported by Dr. Sunitha Kshatriya and Dr. David A. Schmidt, who immediately recognised in the agreement an important development potential for the start-ups created within the AEIC (AUD’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center) programme.

The main objective of the agreement between Techinnova and the American University in Dubai is to invest in the start-ups with the highest degree of “disruptive innovation” indicated by the American University in Dubai. Furthermore, as a certified incubator of innovative start-ups, Techinnova aims to highlight and value the most innovative solutions developed within individual start-ups, among which fruitful synergies can also be created. Moreover, the Company aims to promote a business matching between Italian and Dubai-based startups, with a perspective to create joint R&D projects and to promote softlanding programmes for Italian and Emirati startups.

We would like to thank the President of the American University of Dubai, Dr. David A. Schmidt, for granting us this wonderful opportunity. We would also like to extend our gratitude to those who made this wonderful achievement possible, especially Dr. Sabrina Joseph (Rector and Academic Director) and Dr. Sunitha Kshatriya (Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center Manager).

Below are some photos of the highlights of the signing of the collaboration agreement.
